And just like that it is Sunday night.
The first few weeks of January have been incredibly refreshing on my end. I am finally getting into the routine of doing things during the day that are for me, that can be enjoyed with my kids, and keep us all moving. We are all learning new dance moves, yoga poses and lyrics to more Taylor Swift songs.
Now I know I know the perfect outfit doesn’t solve all of our problems, but it certainly helps us get back to our ‘old self’ just a little bit. You know – the old self that didn’t have to put three children in snow suits before heading out the door. Or how about the old self who was able to drink a cup of coffee in peace. Of course those days are long gone and people (wiser women most often), remind us all that ‘these days do pass and we will long for them when they are gone.’
I get it – but man is it hard.
So while you do hear me blabbing on about lip gloss and eye cream, keep it in mind that these are just things that help me feel a little bit closer to my ‘old self’ (minus the eye cream). It’s kind of like the self care that we always talk about but never actually do. When we do take just a little bit of time to look after ourselves, it actually feels really great.
Wishing you all a lovely week. I will be outfit planning for my upcoming trip to LA / Santa Monica for the Founding Members meeting with Beautycounter. You bet I will be packing a few pairs of my ‘Sarah Thornes’.
But which colours should make the trip??
